Transporting children and animals

On this model, it is not possible to install the child seat on a rear bike rack.

For transporting children and animals, we recommend hiring trailers available from our shops.

For safety reasons, it is not possible to install pet baskets or child seats on the front handlebar, even if they are owned by the customer.

The mounting of customer-owned rear trailers is permitted, subject to a check of compatibility with our bicycles. There are different trailer models on the market that require different fixing axles. Please contact Skialo customer service in advance to check compatibility.

 

Pickup, Return, and Maintenance

Documents required at pickup: a valid ID (Identity Card, Driver’s License, or Passport) and a Credit Card (NO prepaid credit cards, NO debit cards).

Early pickup is available from 6:00 PM on the day before the rental start date, provided that the reserved bike is already available and does not require maintenance.

The bicycle must be returned to the same Skialo Point where it was picked up by 6:00 PM at the latest. This is necessary to allow a full inspection and any required maintenance, ensuring reliability for the next use.

For rentals of multiple consecutive days, alternative arrangements can be made with the starting Skialo Point. However, we still recommend stopping by at the end of each day for a quick check-up.

 

Insurance
 

1. During the rental period, the customer does not have any form of insurance, nor is the bicycle covered by damage, liability, or theft insurance.
   
   
2. The customer is responsible for the bicycle during the entire rental time. The customer is therefore responsible for any theft of the bicycle or any damage caused to the bicycle during its use.
   
   
3. Our staff will provide you with a safety lock with which to secure your bicycle during short stops. The padlock does not guarantee protection against theft. It is therefore good conduct on the part of the customer to keep the bicycle in sight even when it is tied up (e.g. during stops at huts and restaurants).
   
   
4. Upon pick-up and delivery, our staff will check the condition of the bicycle with you.
   
   
5. Any damage caused by the customer to bicycle components shall be refunded in accordance with the list price of the damaged component. If the bicycle is irreparably damaged (frame breakage), the customer shall be required to refund the full market price of the bicycle.
   
   
6. If the bicycle is stolen, the customer shall be required to refund the full market price of the bicycle.
   
   

NOTE: the following rules are intended to make the customer responsible when using the bicycle. Unfortunately, in Italy, it is not yet possible to offer customers damage or liability insurance during the rental period. Therefore, please take note of the following rules and apply common sense when using the bicycle. The excellent reviews you will find online demonstrate the transparency of our service.
