The perturbation that reached northern Italy during the past few days brought the first snow on the Lombardy Alps and in particular in Alta Valtellina. In Livigno, 95 cm of fresh powder has fallen on top of the mountains and 30 cm downtown. These extraordinary conditions convinced SITAS lift management (Carosello 3000 side) to open the ski lifts and ski slopes in advance. During the last weekend of November 9-10, the "Bellavista" slope and Valandrea-Vetta chairlift (n.28 on Livigno ski map) were open to the public for free. If you have missed the opportunity to inaugurate the alpine skiing season in Livigno, don't get mad, you can have a new opportunity.
SITAS has informed us that slopes and lifts will remain open also during all the next week. It will be possible to access the ski area using a special ski pass apposite released (not included in the Livigno Free Skipass 2019-2020 offer). Moreover, if the snow conditions allow it, the snow-cats drivers will do their best to smooth and open up the ski pistes of Fontane-Vetta and Costaccia-Livigno Centre. There are very high chances that this happens due to a new perturbation is coming up again on the Italian Little Tibet mountains.
And will Skialo already be open? We are currently busy renovating our Livigno ski rental shop in San Rocco. Just a few steps remain to complete, such as fitting out furniture and assembling the ski gear rental equipment. The store will be punctually operational for the official Livigno season opening on November 30th 2019. Skialo Team will be glad to introduce new ski and snowboard 2020 models to all the snow lovers... will you be here too?
