Cross-country skiing in Livigno: trails, tickets and rental

More than 30 km of trails on the valley floor: how cross-country skiing works in Livigno, where to buy a ticket, what it costs and how to rent your gear.

The Livigno valley floor is wide, almost flat and at 1,816 metres: here you will find more than 30 km of cross-country trails running through the town. In autumn it is a training base for national teams and World Cup athletes, and in winter it fills up with families and Sunday skiers.

The tourist trail

The heart of it is the loop that runs along the valley and passes through the town centre. The flat sections suit beginners, and you can train in both classic and skating technique. Opening depends on snowfall. The official hours, according to last season's rules, are 6:30 to 17:30 every day.

The autumn technical loop

From the end of October Livigno prepares a loop with snow stored from the previous winter, when there is little skiing elsewhere. In the 2025/26 season it opened on 27 October. The first hours of the day are reserved for teams: amateurs not in a team have access from 12:00, with the MyLivignoPass card.

Tickets and prices

You need a ticket to ski. These are the rates from the 2025/26 rules, the latest published at the time of writing: check the current ones on the Livigno website before you leave.

  • 1 day: €12.50
  • 5 days: €52.50
  • 10 days: €100
  • Season: €186.50

The ticket is refunded only in the event of an injury on the cross-country trail, with a local medical certificate.

Where to buy it

  • With the MyLivignoPass card: from the app. You request the card from your accommodation, with a €5 deposit.
  • Without the card: at the Info Point in Piazza del Comune, at Aquagranda in Via Rasia or at the cross-country ski school. On the autumn loop also from the inspectors.

You must carry the card itself: the app alone is not enough, and anyone found without a valid ticket pays double.

Trail rules

  • The track is for cross-country skis only: no pedestrians, alpine skis, sledges or fat bikes.
  • Dogs are not allowed, even on a lead.
  • During races the trail must be left clear.
  • If there is an accident, give assistance and call 112.

Renting your gear

There is no need to bring skis and boots from home. At Skialo you can rent gear for classic and skating technique: you will find it among the categories of our ski rental. If you book online you pay 20% less than the list price and choose your collection point from Doss, San Rocco and Carosello.

If it is your first time, a lesson at the cross-country school helps a lot, and the flat sections of the valley floor are the right place to try classic technique.
