Six slopes to try in Livigno across Mottolino and Carosello 3000, from the scenic blue Bellavista to the Giorgio Rocca, with advice on choosing by level.
Livigno has 115 km of slopes on two sides that face each other: Mottolino on one, Carosello 3000 on the other. The pass is the same, so you can spend a day on each. Here are six runs worth trying, split by area.
A wide, flowing red run on the Trepalle side, along the road to the Foscagno Pass, which means you can reach it without going through the town centre. Never too demanding, it suits intermediate skiers who want to clock up turns. On the chairlift ride up you look straight down on the Mottolino snowpark.
Named after the Livigno-born ski racer and reached by the Teola-Pianoni Bassi chairlift. It starts wide and gentle, then takes on three tough steep sections: a technical descent for expert skiers, with a fine view over the town.
It leaves from the top of the gondola and heads towards Passo Eira on a steady gradient. After a small bridge it runs through a stretch of larch trees and rejoins the Mottolino I. This is the one to save for a relaxed descent, though in spring it is among the first to close: in 2026, on 20 April.
Blue, wide and easy, dropping from 2,614 to 2,358 metres. Along the way it splits into two branches, a slightly steeper one on the left and a simple one on the right, which meet again further down. You get there with the Tagliede gondola and the chairlift of the same name, and it is the right choice for beginners and ski schools.
Almost dead straight: after a short gentle section it launches into a long steep pitch that runs nearly to the bottom. It is hard on tired legs, so do it in the morning if you are an intermediate or expert skier.
Wide, with a constant gradient and no sudden changes. It works for skiers building confidence and for anyone who wants to practise technique on long turns. Its lift has been upgraded to cut the queues.
The whole ski area is on the piste map, with a link to the official PDF. Before you leave, remember the ski pass: the price changes a lot from one period to the next.
Polvere and Bellavista do not call for the same ski. If you are not sure what suits you, read which ski to choose for Livigno or ask us at the counter. Booking online saves you 20%, and your gear is ready when you collect it.
