The Livigno ski area in numbers, where to find the official PDF map and how to use it to choose slopes, lifts and your starting point.
A piste map is mostly good for one thing: working out how to get around the two sides of the valley without ending up on a black run by mistake. Livigno stretches for more than 10 km and each area has its own starting point, so look at it before you choose where to rent and where to leave the car.

The current PDF is on the Skiing Livigno page of the official website, under the ski area section. Save it on your phone before you leave: the signal is not always good up the mountain, and a screen zooms better than a paper leaflet.
On the east side of the valley is Mottolino, with the 10-seat gondola, the snowpark, the Monte Sponda slopes and the link to Trepalle. On the opposite side are Carosello 3000, which starts from San Rocco, and the Tagliede and Costaccia area, reached by gondola from the town centre. To change sides today you take the bus: our ski bus guide explains how.
Our rental points are right by the slopes: San Rocco at stop 17, Carosello 30 metres from stop 11, Doss at stop 18. Choose the one closest to the slope you want to start from on day one.
If you want some ideas on where to ski, we have picked out the best slopes in Livigno by level. How the lifts work and when they run is covered in our guide to the lifts.
